Domperidone (Motilium®) Use in Breastfeeding Study

Study Purpose

To understand how domperidone is prescribed to and used in breastfeeding people and understand the risk of QT prolongation and other adverse effects.

Study Participation

Participation is located at the Foundations Family Practice and requires ECGs (during scheduled visits), Saliva collection (optional), Phone questionnaire after appointments (3 min).

Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Are breastfeeding
• Are taking domperidone or may need it in the future

This study is being led by Dr. Kara Jansen and Dr. Bruce Carleton, and approved by the University of British Columbia Children’s & Women’s Research Ethics Board (H23-03166).
